Dolan
Springs, Lake Mead City, and Meadview are located geographically in
the northwest corner of Arizona's Mohave County. Mohave County is
located in the northwest corner of Arizona.
Historically, Pierce Ferry Road, the main
artery to these three communities, was the original Mormon trail used by
the pioneers on their way west. The grand wash cliffs, one of the
largest mountain ranges in the west, extends from southern Utah to old
route 66 just south of this area. This mountain range was an extensively
used trade route by the Piaute and Anasazi Indian tribes. Springs are
dotted through the area with elevations ranging from 3000 feet to 8000
feet. These communities are surrounded by the Grand Canyon
national park, the Lake Mead national recreation area and the Mohave
national recreation area. |
